Alexander Electronics has developed a radio interface

for the RT6 logger and probe.

Key Benefits

Can be used with wired and radio systems.
Uses standard Enviroscan software.
As accurate as a wired system.

  Radio Probe Installed

The Radio Probe is very simple to install and can talk to multiple Sentek sensors via RS485 interface.

Total Current Used at the Radio Probe in low power mode. 6.34 ma

New version 6 Vineyard Design with bottom connector

Version 6 Design with 2.4 mtr extension.

RT6 FRONT PANEL WITH  RADIO INTERFACE

This interface allows data from radio probes to be logged and displayed using Enviroscan software.  It has the same operation and features as a wired system without the problems of long wired runs to probes. The radio interface can be retrofitted to any RT6 system and can use the existing wired probes to save cost.

Current Used by interface 24.8 ma

New ver6 9600 BAUD PROBE RADIO

This radio was developed to use with the radio probe system. It has a range of 3KM line of site.

Current Used Receiving 14.32 ma
Current Used RX power save. 2 ma
Current Used Transmitting at 100mw 29.00   ma
RF Power Output Hi 100 mw
Solar Regulator 500 ma
Range Line of Site 3 km

RT6 PROBE ROD WITH RADIO INTERFACE

The probe interface board converts the signals from the sensor rings to digital data and then send them through to the probe radio then to the logger radio to be logged.  The probe boards can be setup for run A or Run B via switches.

Current Used 2.0 ma
Supply 12 V DC

This is a accuracy test between a wired and radio probe system. As you can

see there is very little difference between them.

P2 is radio probe sensors         1/2/3/4 /5/6.

P1 in RT6 5 wire board sensors 7/8/9/10/11/12.

Sensors 1 and 7 are the same sensor.

Sensors 2 and 8 are the same sensor.

Sensors 3 and 9 are the same sensor and so on.

The 5 wire and radio probe boards read the same sensors and display them

as separate sensors on the graph.

This is a configuration example of what the system can do.

EnviroSCAN

RT6 wired system

Complete Soil Moisture Monitoring
EnviroSCAN is a complete and stand alone continuous soil moisture monitoring system. It is acclaimed by growers and researchers as the world's leading irrigation monitoring and scheduling device.

How does EnviroSCAN work?
The system consists of a network of probes supporting an array of soil moisture sensors. The sensors continuously monitor changes in soil moisture, highlighting the crop's dynamic water use with respect to environmental conditions and irrigation management strategies.

What does EnviroSCAN tell you?
The most critical aspect for achieving quality and yield in irrigated agriculture is the ability to match the crop's water requirements, at various crop stages, with irrigation. Using continuously logged data, EnviroSCAN provides irrigators with critical information that will enable the irrigation schedule to maximise crop yield and quality.

A key component to the complete EnviroSCAN system is Sentek's irrigation scheduling software, ESW. The software converts continuous moisture data into graphs that allow irrigators to see what is happening in the crop's root zone.
